the corsa is dead :(

the garage have taken the head off and they have come to the conclusion that two of the pistons broke. the heads came off and have caused damage which needs to be seen rather than explained :(

the only way atm is to replace the engine :(

thanks for all the help anyway :) very helpful, as always

Yeah, thats what I meant. I had a similar problem in the Impreza a couple of years ago which turned out to be the MAF.

the egr valve was changed around the time of my MOT last year since the EM light had come on.

ill have to ask again what they did because its been so long and they say they have tried so much that ive forgot whats left

not sure if the EGR valve would make it do this but i think the EM light would come on.

Faulty Fuel pump maybe?

My car (Corsa B 1.2 16v SXI) was starting to misfire a while back (about a week before it went to the garage) this became progressively worse over the period of the week and so when it went in for its MOT it also went on to see if the misfire could be solved.

They thought this would be due to something simple like spark plugs or the coil ( :boggle: )
They changed the peripherals of the engine (i dont quite know what these are) and changed the spark plugs. That didnt solve it, so they changed the coil and changed the spark plugs again. This still didnt solve it.

They then had a vauxhall mechanic come and carry out a diagnostic check on the engine, but he was apparently baffled as to what it is too :o
So now my car still sits in the garage a week and a half later, still un fixed, still misfiring.

So they have changed - the preripherals of the engine, the coil, the spark plugs and they have done a few other things which i cant quite remember since its been so long

Any ideas as to what else there is left that it could be would be greatly appreciated, i really just want my car back and i just want to know what could be causing this misfire.

Thanks for any help
