take it to a garage and get them to pressure test it

what they did with mine was screwed this bottle to the coolant bottle with a liquid init and it turned yellow that meant that the gasket had gone

i couldnt see any water going when mine went just boils dry i think

no not tested, its supoesed to be a mate, he has changed the cam belt 10k agto and fitted a new water pump but keep losing coolant and can't see any leak, also sometimes misfires when it is cold for the first couple of sec's

I have been told that my head gasket is on its way out as I am losing coolant, car is 1.4L 16v and have been given a price of around £500. just that seems high when the car is running ok, is it? if it is what sort of price should I be looking at?
cheers
