i think the C12NZ has a aluminium rocker while the X12SZ has a plastic? | |

Could be, the engine code is printed on the block. Its on the distributor side. If you look down the front of the block you'll see a vertical edge and the engine number is stamped onto that. The first of part of will say what your engine code is. | |

I think so, dont all the 16v engines (from that time era at least) end in XE (excluding the turbos of course)? | |
