Mine does this a bit as well and worse when you leave it on a slope which lead me to think it could be just breather oil condensing when engine is off when you look at the trottle body its cover ed in oil well mine was

I have this problem as well, my car burns a fair bit of oil.

At the minute my tappets are nosiy - which are getting sorted 2nite hopefully.

Have been told that its my valve seals of piston rings but the are much £££

Surely there not going to do anything if the warrenty expires. To be honest id rather not go back to the garage I got it from as were not on best terms after they had to buy me a new headunit and replace half of the dash from where they covered it in glue

not too sure then because of the age of the vehicle, i'd get checking the warranty m8!

I would agree about it being the stem seals. My 2.0 had a similar problem, somked on startup, was fine after. A head re-build later and it was all sorted

The car was purchased from a vauxhall dealer second hand last august and came with one years warrenty with car plan i think it was. Its on a 99 s reg x16xe corsa thats on 60k

dyu mean warranty with vauxhall or with another company? if u have a newish car with vauxhall warranty, vaux usually give a contribution in cases like yours wen ur warranty has just run out and there is major engine trouble. thats what happens at our dealership anyway. hope this helps, also sounds like stem seals instead of piston rings. wat car is it on??

on start-up its likely to be stem seals as the oil leaks past them while the engine is resting and drips into the cylinder and burns on start-up.

get a leakdown compression test, that will tell you the cause of the problem.

The engines on 60k, nope the oil hasnt been overfilled

could have overfilled it with oil?

Stem seals are no biggy, piston rings are a bit poo on the otherhand!

If the warrenty has just run out, sounds a bit new to be suffering with ring or seal problems

My car has decided to chuck out loads of blue smoke sometimes when you start it and it does it when warm and cold. The warrenty ran out last week aswell didnt it :lol:

Im guessing piston rings or valve stem seals are on their way out?
