turned the part inside the dizzy a few times and kept trying till i got it right and it started. | |

tapping is normal, lifters just need to get some oil in them, as is smokey manifold, you will have touched it with oily hands when it was off. | |

it started!! Sounds rather tappy though, and smoke pouring off the manifold? hasn't been started for over a month. | |

the sensor on the dizzy? yeah thats at the front! | |

the hall effect sensor should be at the front by the slam panel. but its the pulleys that are gonna be out 180o | |

more than likely then, as when i put the dizzy back on i had to twist it to line the bolt holes up | |

timing right? if its 180 deg out it will turn over ok but wont fire. | |

Ive swapped the head on my 20xe over for a rebuilt ported polished one, got everything connected back up etc, but it won't start it'l just crank over! |
