dave you have a c16xe which has a different head, also egr and sai, loom, ecu. if your wanting a c16xe try vauxhall. or get someone to replace your piston rings it doesnt cost much.

changing from a c16xe to a x16xe is not worth it.

1. you will be getting a less powerful engine

2. it wouldnt be worth the money.

hope you get something sorted out

it is mate the person whoever had the car b4 me must of put the plastic one on so could i just use my manifold?

that means yours is a c16xe.

the x16xe isnt a straight swop in that case. you would need a new ecu and wiring loom from the x16xe for it to fit.

1994 gsi was a c16xe

1996 gsi was a x16xe

completely different head, different sensors, ecu and looms. also the x16xe has the egr and sai systems (the valve on the manifold)
