My engine was tapping quite loud, got some engine flush, whacked it in oil, went for a drive (not revving nuts off it as the oil is now thinner coz of the flush) let it idle for 10 mins, flushed all of the oil out from sump bolt. Filled it with fresh oil. Load quieter, cant hear it outside the bonnet now :D

if the oil hasnt been changed in a while
drain the oil and refill with some cheap stuff
run for say 10 minutes and then drain that then put it some better, half decent oil.

this should flush the crap oil instead of using an oil flush which wont do your engine any good

The lowest part of the engine. Can't miss it.

Big bolt, about 19mm.

Undo the sump bolt, drain the oil. Take the oil filter off, replace that. Then fill the oil back up.

If its a high-miler try some thicker oil
