this is what I would do:

1. paperclip test
2. check for spark
3. check fuel pressure
4. compression test

without the above being done its impossible to guess im sorry.

there is only a tiny little bit of fuel getting to the engine and wen we managed to get it started it ticked over at 500 and sounded very poorly

the crank shaft pulley has a marker and the cams should have a marker as well. make sure these lines up correctly. If they are, is it getting fuel through and are you getting a spark from the spark plugs?

what engine or car is it. there should be timing marks on the crank pulley and cam cover, as Dave A said.

check if the timing marks are aligned. it may just be slack because it hasnt been turned over. also, these engines can jump 3-4 teeth and still run!

have you checked the crank sensor as I suggested in the last thread?

How many miles has the car done?

If it's snapped you could be looking at all the valves bent which aint cheap :( the cylinder head and pistons could also be damaged
