my car was leaking oil after the headgasket had just been done,

i find it was the rocker gasket and made them refit that properly, has been solid as a rock for 3yrs, nothing gone wrong

Question:

Does the X14XE have an Oil Cooler? Hoses that could split? Just been reading through the related threads on the bottom here.

Take it straight back to them say something along the lines of, "you did the headgasket on my car, and now i have an oil leak can you have a look at it for me, also ask them what oil they used etc."

It was last tuesday i got it back from the garage and i noticed it leeking yesterday morning, but there are drops on the road where i have parked before so could have been leeking for maybe 3 days now.

is it possible if a thinner oil has been used instead of the recommended one?

How long ago was the headgasket etc done, days weeks etc, they could just of spilt alot of oil, if your not losing to much oil then its probably nothing to worry about.

Im back with my cursed engine.

Just spent lots of money on head gasket, and head skimming. Aslo had cam belt done aswell. This came with new Oil, Filter and coolant.

Recently discovered a big oil leak from the engine. The leak is engine oil, not gearbox. It appears to be coming from the drivers side of the engine. Above the sump and gasket. I have had a look around the oil filter, the oil does not seem to be coming from there. Also had a look at Sump Gasket and Sump Plug. Definatley not the plug. It's hard to see around the whole sump gasket, due to the amount of room on these engines.

Getting fed up with spending money on this engine. It's constantly broken :| Is there a simple explanation for this leak :| :(

The oil seems to be dripping from a number of places, Sump plug, Gearbox, sprayed in drivers wheelarch etc. But the car doesn't seem to be losing that much oil :| I've topped it up once. Also discovered the oil light does not light up on the dash. Worrying too. Need to check for a knackered bulb.

If anyone can help would appreciate it :(.
