yes

you take off the plastic surround which is covering the steering colum there are 2 screws in the front of it 1 either side behind plastic cap covers then there are 3 in the bottom half of the steering colum cover

to remove the air bag there are 2 torx screws [these are screwed in from behind so you need to work backwards] one torx screw either side you should be able to feel the holes in the rear of the steering wheel

once you have undone the torx srews the air bag should come away from the wheel itself there will be a yellow or orange wire pushed into the middle of the rear this will be firmly inplace but you need to gently prize it out [quite easy] - Once airbag is unplugged put it somewhere secure untill you need it to refit it

Once the airbag is out of the way you will see a black connector going to some wires and to the gorn buttons - get a small piece of wire and connect the two together [bridge the wires] - just one final check to see wether its your buttons which are faulty

if your horn still does not work then undo the large bolt in the centre of the wheels [before you do this make sure car is parked with wheels straight and choced] Once the nut is loose undo it by hand until its litterally on the last thread - then pull the steering wheel towards you [this may be very firmly in place] the nut stops it from flying itno your face when it finally gives

you may notice that there are still 2 screws holding a plastic disc onto the rear of the steering wheel this plastic disc is a coil of wires which carry the signal for your horn and airbag this is the part which is at fault if you have not cured the problem before getting this far

Hope this helps

Check the fuse in the top left slot, a 20A I believe. Also controls the MFD/centre console/stereo, so if you have trouble with them it might be the fuse thats blown.

well it's been a while now and MOT approaching need to sort it out

I have been told that the horn contact ring is more probably faulty

wires been tested upto to that ring just behind the steering wheel

Before stopping completely, it was intermittent...

Any advise and is it difficult to get that contact ring changed?

thank you

:)
