got it up on ZSOC - but just wanted general opinion before we took it up to the garage; plus suprisingly some of the mechanics on here do know about cars other than corsas
its in now to be fixed monday - he had a spare Zetec S radiator he ordered by accident a few weeks ago - so he's changing it regardless and fettling a few other jobs for me as well
I think its either Heater control valve or thermostat

checked for pipes at the back of the engine? nothing came loose? was the rad hot or the pipes leading to it hot (to check if the thermostat was operating correctly)

Zetec S Phase one engine
Just driven no more than 15 miles to the other half's house, and when we pulled in the drive there was steam coming from under the bonnet like mad
Looked all over the radiator and there doesnt appear to be a hole or any dmage; the inlet and outlet pipe arn't split
however there's water all over the engine, where its dropped onto the fan and been circulated!
The main source of the water seems to be above the fan and radiator as theres a pool on top of the casing which couldn't have got there from the fan alone!
Is there a blow of valve above the radiator ( as it doesnt appear to be the actual radiator itself) ; to allow pressure to escape if it gets too high?
any other related issues or advice would be much appreciated
