Clean the ICV.

I had this problem on my 1.6 Sport.

It turned out there was an earth problem on the inlet manifold. Had a new earth lead fitted and it solved the problem.

Other possibilty is the ICV. Take that out and clean it.

my ;94 gsi is doing my nut in i have no engineor intake modz yet every now and then my tickover goes nuts for about a week now it's been sitting at 1200 - 2000 rpm then all of a sudden she's fine any ideas
