I finally got this fixed  It wasnīt the sump or the crank oil seal. Hereīs a pic of where the oil came from.

Thatīs the place where you need to put some sealant in the groove thingy. I guess it wasnīt completely full of that goo, like it should.

A total of 2 full days wasted with fixing this leak. I had the gearbox out because I didnīt know where it was leaking. I was in a hurry when putting it back together and put the clutch plate the wrong way   Noticed that when I was starting the car... So gearbox out and in again. How nice :P

Anyways, the leak is gone, and the peace of mind is amazing.

And add to that the joy of attaching the gearbox to the block. It was fairly difficult even with the engine out.

Iīm not exactly looking forward to doing this...:( Not that great way to spend a whole weekend.

my money is on crank!

Thatīs exactly what I was thinking too. I already bought a new crank oil seal and was prepared to drop the gearbox out to change it, but I found no signs of it leaking. I guess Iīll have to change it eventually if I canīt find any other source for the leak.

sump, rocker cover, crank oil seal.

thats whet i would start looking at and hoping its not the crank oil seal.

Before the rebuild it was burning oil, now itīs spitting it to the ground. So not that big improvement

If I get this fixed, itīs probably gonna start rejecting oil... The oil wonīt come out of the container when itīs close to the car or something similar... :o

Try working eith its bigger brother... c20xe's must've been designed to leak. Upside is that the oil thats in there is always clean

Itīs definitely engine oil. I changed gearbox oil recently and itīs that red GM stuff. The oil thatīs coming out is yellow engine oil.

I just rebuilt this engine a few months ago, and it has already started to lose oil. The oil is dripping from somewhere between the sump and the gearbox, but itīs difficult to see the exact leaking point.

I changed the sump gasket and even used some sealant stuff on it, so it shouldnīt be that.

I was thinking about the oil seal at the end of the crank but the flywheel was very clean, and no oil was dropping from the gearbox casing. Also I think that the clutch would be slipping like a bitch if there was oil in there.

The oil could be travelling from somewhere behind the block but I found nothing there. I checked the oil pipe that runs from the head to the sump and it was clean.

Iīm really starting to lose my mind with this. Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong with it ?

As you can see itīs making a big mess.
