Test the battery with a multimeter when the engine is running. It should show about 14 volts iirc

probably a faulty alternator then. or wiring associated with the alternator

You need a new battery.

i have tried using the search and not really found much...

The battery is going flat every few days even though im using the car for about 40 miles a day, which leads me to think its the alternator not charging the battery
I have however re-earthed one of my headlights to the negative terminal on the battery, would this cause any problems with the battery going flat? thats the only thing i have changed to the wiring since the problem started.
