so drill the airbox, pipercross filter and modify the intake pipe into a cold air feed?

Ive drilled mine, pretty much like Corsa 808 and removed the two pipes in the airbox lid and box itself aswell as replacing the filter with a pipercross panel filter, ive got a cold air feed going to where the old air feed used to go and ive got one going to the holes under the airbox, car does seem to respond quite well aslong as its cooled etc if it gets hot it does seem to lag a tad, ive also tried putting a pipercross cone filter inside the airbox but this gave me a couple of flat spots so i went back to the panel filter, thats on a 1.6 16v btw :)

depends what your looking for out of it

power increase - 1bhp if your lucky
a wee bit more responsive
noise - yeah
uses more fuel - yeah
sucks in hot air - it will when stationary, and you dont exactly need power then do you?
stick a cold air feed in and if your intent on using an open filter make up a heatsheild of some sort

so a pipercross filter and accompanying will possibly give me 1bhp. what will it improve then?

how and what do people do to mod their airbox? apart from fit a better filter?

the front air feed is a piece of shoot to, sort that out.

i think a filter and well modded air box should help a fair bit as they are well restrictive when standard.

pmsl at the suggestion of 2 inferior filters

both cotton gauze, you want a foam filter, like a pipercross one

get a panel filter and de-restrict the airbox, and it may, if you are lucky, give you 1bhp

a k&n to imrpove the job more, or a k&n to actually get some improvement?

probably make no difference at all mate

best way is either pop a K&N replacement panel filter in or get a CDA kit

dont get just a normal induction kit though as the sucked in heat will slow you down

i am currently modifying my cold air intake. this morning i took the airbox off and removed the 2 pieces of piping that lie inside the airbox. i also am currently modifying the intake pipe, placing pipe 1/3 of the way down the intake pipe and running it down into the front right bumper to find a reliable source of cold air.
my question is- has anyone done this before, and what knid of experiences have they had with modifying the intake on a corsa b?
