Never heard that a sensor needs recalibrating. Probably another way for vauxhall to make money by leaving your car in the corner for an hour.

put it in 4th and try to pull away, if it stalls the clutch is fine, if it revs its knackered

may be a worn clutch as i have mine adjusted so the clutch pedal is about 1cm above the brake pedal when at rest and it bites fine. All of this sdjustment was done using the clutch cable but if you have done this like you said its probably the clutch its self. The accelerator pedal in my car felt very stiff when i first got it compared to the car i passed my test in but i am now either used to it or it has losened up as i dont notice it  although i dont drive any other cars so cant compare it.
