hmm, could be right. But you said it had been previously converted to a bigger engine, so originally it was smaller right?

i swear i read somewhere that if you fit a smaller engine that lowers the tax bracket you need a report... they'll want proof as to why you aren't paying as much road tax :lol:

it was just a 1.6 then converted to 1.8GTI
so if i was to convert it back to a 1.6 may it need a engineers report then

You'll need an engineers report too i think if its coming down a tax bracket too

Say if i was to buy a non runner, engine buggered and it has been converted to a bigger engine size. Would it be ok to change the engine to something smaller?
