quote: wrong, NZ/SZ engines have a RON plug instead of a knock sensor. Most 1.2/1.4 8v's came with the 91/95RON plug which can be reversed depending on what fuel you use. makes a difference if the RON plug is set to 95 and you use 95, not even sure you can still get 91 in the UK, can you? Vauxhall can supply a RON plug which is 95/98 if you want to take advantage of Optimax etc. wil advance the timing to suit the engine

The only thing the octane plugs let you run 4 star or unledaded. The engine has a knock sensor that thets it learn what octane level fuel you are running...

Does anybody actually adjust this to what grade they are using. I am running super unleaded which is 98 ron but have not changed the plug on my 1.2 8v spi. |
