Thanks guys - I will first try adjusting the gear linkage and clutch cable, as per Haynes manual.

Hi all.

I've got a completely standard '97 Corsa 1.2 8v (does that make it a Corsa B?). It's now done 105,000 miles and I've been having problems engaging 1st and 2nd gear when the car is stationary and the engine has been running for a while. For the first 20 mins or so, there is no problem, but after a while it gets REALLY tricky to shift between these gears (such that I think I'm gonna snap the gear linkage when I eventually do get the gears to engage!).

Was wondering if you think this is a problem with my gearbox (possibly worn synchro-mesh?) or perhaps the gear linkage (though I'd expect to have the problem when engine/gearbox is cold too if the gear linkage is knackered)?

Thanks
