can also be due to tracking! on a cable driven speed sensor

id go with speedo gear
then cable
then clocks

On my Astra, the speedo needle wobbles usually from 30-70mph, reminds me of a Triumph (car).

What can be causing this - knackered clocks, or knackered speedo cable?

mk3 Astra with X14XE by the way...
