Had the same problem.

Just bought a new EGR, took the old gasket and cut it out on steel plate. The hole for the piston should be open.

Then reassemble the thing.
And remove your dash and remove the engine warning light. (Although the sticker thing from 5chaap2k also works :-) )

dont need your code removed.

disconnect your battery for 10 mins to re-set the ecu. no point though as the ecu will self clear after 30 clean starts. (without em light coming on)

to get rid of it u have to make sure that the plotter of the EGR can move freely, the EGR blanking plate could be blocking it.

I never done it.. just putt a sticker over the ECU light zo it doesn't annoy me anymore haha

never got any probs with APK (Dutch MOT)

 you cowboy!

p0400 (present) exhaust gas recirculation circut voltage high etc...

clean in right out and blank it off, you'll need to go and get the code removed tho

this is a common fault code to have after fitting a mantzel box. blanking off the egr and giving it a good clean will stop it coming on.

fitted mantzel bla.runs sweet when im on motorway or going at high speed engine management light comes on.

paper clip test fault code shows EGR valve,i know this is because i fitted the mantzel.

any solutions as to get it to stop or is it just some thing you have to live with after fitting an aftemarket inlet?
