if im not mistaken either adam d or adam b made a box to fit in the spare wheel well..... also you gonna loose alot of volume for the box and would sound naff.... if you do wanna do it you will need to get a steady hand to jig saw the circles out or source a cnc machinsit who can cut the would perfectly

more than likely wont fit in the wheel well a ready made box!

its not as big as you think!

best to make a hexagonal box in there!

and if its like mine it wont be central and the wheel well aint!

im not to handy with wood :| think i may be best of buying a pre made box i just thought it would be alrite without having to make a box and just putting wadding around it and sealing it all with silicone sealent..

making the box is not that hard get a mdf disc cut the size of the wheel well then u can by mdf pannels with slats in that enables u to bend it and u can get diffeenet sizes. find the right sise and secure it to the disc then fix ur false floor on to the walls of the box and make sure hole is center of the box.

make sure that u have a big enough box or it will sound shite

So i would have to make a box to go into the spare wheel well :(

Yes, the box would need sealing... and the capacity measuring also.

Put a box inside the wheel well, then it will be a sealed box and sound better.

Right basically im selling my 2 JL's and getting one alpine type r as im trying to save a bit of wieght i basically want to remove the spare wheel and build the type R into the spare wheel well, obviously i will have to make a false floor in the boot... is it as simple as makeing a hole for the sub to sit in and then thats it... or do i need to build a box inside the wheel well which i want to avoid if possible because it will add more wieght and be more difficult :P

So am i right in thinking i can just build a false floor and put the sub where the spare wheel well is or does the spare wheel well need sealing etc...

Cheers Rob
