change the cts. only £12. this causes it to run rich/ lean if its faulty. the other code is lambda. this fault code could be caused by the cts, but not the other way round. common fault. | |

thats Coolent temp sensor and lambda then both could cause the above symptoms i would check wireing to these first, As for the tapping it may well be the lifters if the engine has been stood they sometimes dry up. | |

C16's have no EGR valve | |

idle air control valve caused these problems on my mates gsi, and a tigra that i dont, either that or its the egr valve, its one of them anyway for definate | |
