I didnt replace the O ring when I did mine over two years ago - covered it in gunk, cleaned it then lubed it - not had an issue since - it runs perfectly now and has ever since

ok.. cool...
I think in the book it says something about if I remove it I've gotta reseal an "O" ring or something is that right?? coz I dont wanna have to take it out to discover when I put it back in it doesnt work properly.

yeah same thing Carso, you might be able to clean it up with carb cleaner, because its under the inlet manifold.

its a 1.4 8v

So what your saying is the valve and the motor are the same thing.

what engine?

btw, its a motor that acts as a valve (in most engines.) if that makes sense:lol:

My car has been having problems.. so I check the ecu code - 35 which says its the idle speed control..
I start looking through the book and find the idle speed control motor (which is really expensive). I've read on here about you guys talking about the idle speed control valve..
I know this sounds stupid, but are they actually two different parts or is it one part with different names?

and where would I find the valve? so I can try cleaning or replacing it to fix my problem before replacing the expensive bits.
