May sound silly, and Proberbly isnt the noise your on about, but try checking the grooves in the tyres for debris thta may be stuck in it. I know mine make a right racket if i get stonechips wedged betwen the grooves .

corsa 808 - not really as the hole for the brake disc that thew wheel nut goes through si slightly larger than the wheel nut and even though my wheels are on tight, it did use to make a bizzare noise, stopped when i put that bolt back in. this was on v6 brakes btw

it doesnt do it on both sides, just the drivers!

corsa_boy69: it used to do that with mine, but i sorted that! so its not that!

i think i will have to get on the rollers, BUT will my front bumper get over it? joys of the modifiying world:D

take it to an mot station that uses rollers to check the brakes, get them to drive it slowly on the rollers and have a good listen.

that would be my next step.

does it do it on both sides?

When I first put my valver brakes on the retaining clip was catching on the back of the spokes of the wheels and making a funny noise, it bugged me for ages then I found out what it was when I put new discs and pads on. Its stopped now so the retaining clip must not have been pushed in properly. Dunno if thats any help!

i put 16v ones on my corsa and never put the bolt back in that holds disc onto the hub. made a odd noise. took about a month of fuckin about lookin at everything before i noticed. even though every time i took wheel off, took me 11 mins to align the holes up, just never thought of it.

put a bolt in, never made the noise since

but that bolt/screw isnt needed as its only there to hold the disc in place while the car is on the flow line at the factory. as soon as the wheel is on and done up tight, the disc is pressed onto the hub, so it was probably your wheels that were loose???

i will have a look at that! its like a stone in the brake pad, but its not! and sometimes its sounds like rubber catching on something! just cant find the problem.

i have had this swoosing noise coming from my drivers wheel or around that area. these are the stuff i have checked:

  1. checked wheel nuts werent loose
  2. checked if there was no play on the track rod end
  3. looked for a stone wedged under the brake pad
  4. CV joints are fine
  5. disks are fine

the noise comes on when wheel is going round, but every rotary circle.

    its well annoying me

just ran out of ideas what it could be :boggle:
