BTW the early Astra GSi's were C18XE's

J-plate ones. 135bhp from a 1.8 16v.

does anyone know if there is a smallblock variant of the 1.8 16v engine? or are all of them bigblocks?

would be fun to sneakingly convert a x16xe to a 1799cc or more :D

but my guess is that there are no smallblock 1800cc engines wich will fit the x16xe head :(

No its not its a X18XEV as JR said as its the engine from the astra sprts which were all post 92 ecotecs.

Not even worth fitting best off getting a 20xev or a 20xe more cost effecttive.

the x18xe is an ecotech the c18xe is a non ecotech the one which im gettin is definitely an c18xe

i was told its pointless exercise, no one makes the mounts and for the effort a c20xe is easier and better

Adam-D

possibly you will need a fitting kit
for the likes of the c20xe as its a big block engine

so shafts, mounting kit, etc etc

trisha corsa gsi

posted on 28th Jun 05 at 09:01

yes c18xe from the astra sport 1.8 16v
