its the connector jsut below the clutch release arm, bridge the connection with a paperclip and see if the lights come on, if they do then its the switch, if not then the fuse may have gone.

Cool mate thanks for that. Not sure about that many garages around here but will have a nosey tomorrow. Might end up going to Vaux just to get it done straight away.

sensor on front of the gearbox
less than £10 and 5 min job to change

Just noticed the other day that my reverse lights arent working. I had the gen3 lexus style lights. Its not the bulbs as they are fine and have been checked. I will check that there is power going to them tomorrow but i thought i would ask if anyone else has had this problem or if anyone has had the switch/sensor changed in their gearbox that turns the lights on. Cheers guys.
