where u have circled u need to remove the pipe and its inside that housing 3 bolts holding housing on. when u put it back on only just tighten it back up as housing breaks. and the bottom pic that is fan switch. replace thermostat. sounds like it could be stuck shut | |

could be fan switch on bottom left hand corner of radiator as ure looking down on it. | |

The thermostat housing comes off with 3/4 bolts, might need a screwdriver to pry out your old thermostat. Put it in a pot of boiling water, see if its working. Mind you they only cost a few quid, might as well replace it. | |
