tis a Corsa B and a slightly different engine, had a proper look today and just adjusted the idle screw so now its 900

when i start it though it sits on 800 then rises after say 10 seconds to 1100 (now 900) well ill try this for a few days and see if its ok as i dont want the idle so low it will cut out

A diesel shouldn't have a choke.. If you look in the engine bay you can see where the throttle cable comes in from the peddle to the carb, you can turn a screw there to allow the idle to shift back a bit, its not hard to do though a bitch to get at behind/below the inlet manifold..

idling high constantly its the isuzu td, got the 1.7td isuzu in my astra and the choke is fine this one just sticks from 1000 to 1200 which is a pain

is it idling high all the time, or just when you start the engine for the first few minutes, because all petrols have an auto choke which will give an idle speed of just above 1000rpm for first few mins

You can adjust the idle speed by adjusting a screw somewhere. If you have a Haynes manual, or do a search then you will find out how to do it. Somone else might be able to tell you where the screw is but I dont have a clue

got myself a corsa B td but it seems to idle at 1000-1200 rpms which is a pain and also taking away valuable power

the temp gauge reads out 90 but the revs dont change how can this be adjusted can i just set the rpms to sit at 800 constantly?
