Why are you unfastening it? If you are doing the cambelt just unbolt the pulley.

or else how would using the start motor to undo it work if it was reverse??

also serveral people have said it reverse thread.... i've taken off a 1.2 8v one a c16xe one an a x14xe one and they have all been normal I.E anticlockwise....

if its out the car get as much swing on it and do it fast

if it's in the car, rest a breaker bar on the ground and undo the bolt with aid from the starter motor

o o o the engine is not in the car is it? have tonnes of fun trying to stop the crankshaft moving:lol:

It's an E20 torx bit. You'll need to go buy the 1/2" drive socket of it, cause you'll just snap the 3/8" on an adaptor.
Drapper do one it's abotu £4 and well worth it.
