Where is the heater matrix situated? How do I flush the coolant? What does it do to flush the coolant, how does it get rid of it? I know i'm dim.

First check the simple things, like
1) when you turn the dial to hot, it moves the cable on the heatermatrix to open the valve

2) Feel the pipes going to the heater matrix are both hot, they are at the back of the bay in the middle and run in to the car.

To flush the coolant, you need to go to the local motorfactors and ask for coolant flsuh, you'll also need new antifreeze in there when you remove the flush solution cause it's a bit corosive.

And how much am I looking at if it is the heater matrix... How I flush cooler system? Thermostat easy to change?

i would start off by changing the thermostat and flushing the cooling system, thats the cheap place to start.

After that you could well be looking at heater matrix!

don't know if you have the same problem as me .. when mine went I was on the motorway and had to have all pistons, 16 valves and loads of other shit replaced... very costly

yes it could, could be clogged up and not allowing the hot water to circulate through it.

what engine is it?

Reepah

Could it be the matrix?

Didn't work... How the hell do i take out the heater matrix? I have airconditioning, and I just got a new alarm fitted... Would this have anything to do with anything? (I know it's a long shot).

could be your thermostat stuck open. car would never reach proper running temp, no heaters, low economy.

my calibra did this. soon as i replaced it, car ran better, had heaters back again, and fuel consumption returned to normal.
