I have a 1.4 16v s reg corsa ... the heater didn't heat up and about 5 minutes later the water pump collapsed, car dumped all it's water and the timing belt snapped .. all in all a fairly shit experience :o

yes it could, could be clogged up and not allowing the hot water to circulate through it.

could be your thermostat stuck open. car would never reach proper running temp, no heaters, low economy.

Is the engine running cold generally or just the heater. Does it warm up when stood for long periods for example in traffic.

check for mayo under the oil filler cap, sometimes a sign of head gasket failer

run the engine with the header tank cap off untill it boils over, should push all the air out of the system, as it sounds like you may have an air lock, if that doesnt work then you may need to take out the heater matrix and flush it.
