just looked from gearbox only thign i can kinda see ( as not alot of room to see through tc) is a little metal wire / cable. which goes through/ attactched to the top. unsure if its part of or for soemthign else just placed ontop. any 1 able to get pic of wha this cable should look like?.

corsa808 the dials are not standard anymore i brought with white dials in the car, so cant used that ;).

1 way of telling is to look at the sender on the gearbox, a cable driven one will have a cable, electric one will have a wire.

or pull out the clocks, if there is a cable then you guessed it....its cable. :D

how can you tell if your speedo is mechanical or electronic driven. Car was previously 1.4 Sport 1997/98 R Reg

Also does it all change when new engine is put in? or does the speedo driven part stay the same?
