An update on this now guys ive been driving all today and have worked out the only time it doesnt stutter is if i use very minimal throttle and it is totaly fine to drive this way as soon as you go ove rougly half throttle it statrs to stutter and loose the engines smoothness.
Im now thinking it could be a throllte position sensor?
Any help?

Thanks

if i drive very lightly it doesnt do it. An example of when it does do it is say im driving at 50 in 4th at 2000rpm then put my foot down to accelerate is just stutters and doenst gain speed then if i take my foot off so its just lightly accellerating it clears kind of.

So the tps and cts are just replaceable sensors so shouldnt be too much trouble whats the manifold absolute pressure? Is it adjusted?

Thanks

Ful filter is about a ft behind the passangers side door, under the car.

TPS = throttle position sensor
MAP = manifold absolute pressue
CTS= coolant temperature sensor

I'd check all the plugs are in firms and dry.

TPS
MAP
CTS
are the main ones.

That and fuel filter.

Well might change the leads and fuel filter just to be safe then venture on to other things.
What is
TPS
MAP
CTS?

Also where is the fuel filter located?

Thanks

There is no dizzy on the X14XE it's a DIS engine.

The plugs are about £10 a set from motor factors.

thanks, it doesnt do it all the time just sometimes, how much is a set of leads?
Could just buy them and see? What about the gap on plugs, should they be set when installed and to what distance?

Thanks

think you need to remopve th eplugs to check that one cyl isn't affect and it's all of them. Get a multimeter and check the resistance on the leads to see if there is a fail with those.
sounds like a dodgey wiring issue grounding a sensor and upsetting the ecu

My corsa sport x14xe is being a bitch. When i drive it stutters as you accellerate and the revs dont really rise much.

It has had new plugs recently (didnt alter the gap), not so long ago changed the oil and filter, oil level is good, water in header tank is cleanish (as clean as its ever been), Not loosing water rapidly, exhaust is not blowing.

Im thinking the leads are fooked anyone else shed some light on it?

Thanks guys.
