Some interesting views on the exhaust :o

When you tightened the nut on the clamp of the exhaust, did you push the joint up as much as you can without it hitting the car? If you didnt it'll hang down, and as soon as you go over a bump the rear bem will move up and hit it. Also be sure the clamp is really tight as when i did mine it came loose after a few days and started hitting the beam when it dropped down.

Hope that helps :).

the exhaust is hitting the spare tyre casing (the metal bit), makes it rattle

maybe put a brace round it to hold it away

dont think they will scrub if its not lowered

maybe the new exhaust is heavier so the rubbers are more loose

But if it was hitting against he rear axle, how come it didnt bang when the standard back box was on? :boggle:. ill try to find sumthing that will dampen it though
the cars on standard suspension...i jus dont want to have to grind the bolts of and glue the archs back on if there not rite

Exhaust is probably hitting against rear axle, maybe try to get tighter rubber hangers or put something over the axle to dampen the noise.. I cut up an old tyre and fastened it on.

Wheels - is the car lowered at all? That's when you normally start getting problems.

Hi all

Just fitted a Sebring 6x4 backbox onto my 1999 sxi, i replaced the rubbers that it hangs off. but when i drive over a pot hole/ speedbump it knocks and bangs (suspension is standard btw). Any ideas as to what could be the problem and how i could go about fixing it?

Next on the list is some new alloys...looking at 16" ACE 112's with 195/40/16 Continental Sport Contact 2 tyres. Wat are peoples views on these tyres: good/bad/ how long do they last?
the offset of the wheel is et40 and i know it should be as close to et49 as possible, would i get any scrubbing etc?

Any help would be greatly appreicated  :D
