This sounds like the problem. (I'm his missus by the way)
Basically went to lock the car door last night and heard a funny click when locking the door! Thought my key might of snapped in the lock etc. So took my key out it was fine. But now the lock wont open probably. I.e when i open the car door the locks meant to go vertical but it doesnt. It just keeps returning horizontal (and locking again) and wont even go vertical at all if i tried!!
Does this sound like yours? How much are the parts? Can you get them from a scrappy?

does the lock not feel right anymore, ie: u can turn it to 45degrees and it locks, then turning it another 45 degrees its meant to deadlock.

can u feel the notches when turning it?

is a failry easy repair if its the same bit that broke on mine, have to take off door card, and get to back of lock, and remove the back of handle

WD-40 seems to do the trick, it happened to me back when it was snowing, the locks were stuck.

if it was the deadlocks, then it would be the otherway round (not opening from passenger side, but only opening from drivers side)

could be someones had a go at the lock & duffed the insides up!

mine gets a bit sticky at times too, and hard to unlock, so may be worth spraying a bit of WD-40 in the lock & see if that helps!
