only thing sony are good a producing is CRT TVs/Tubes - rest of there stuff has gone right down hill :(

But yes, opt for an alpine or pioneer - especially if you can afford to spend 150+.

Although it all depends what your after - something that flashs every second with some dolphin going across the screen - or sound quality...obviously the latter is more expensive :)

i zee! So is there in car really no good or is it just that people are of that opinion and not giving it a chance?!

i think because most people would rather stick with buying a sony widescreen t.v, than car audio - its not really specialised stuff..

Why does everyone think Sony is shoot? No-one seems to have a good word to say about them!

Sony head units, in my opinion, look the part and sound ok with some decent features. Most if not all the ice experts will tell you they are shit, which they may well be, but it depends what you want to do? Have a good looking head unit that powers standard speakers pretty well or a £1000 system with an amp and uprated speakers.

My only concern with those head units are that there is no detachable front, so can mean its easily pinched.
