i just connected the tweeter to the standard tweeter wiring in the door loom, and the mid to the mid wires.

If your std speakers were comps u can just do that.

I've got these speakers, I didn't have to use any force to fit them but they were a tight fit.

To wire up the tweeters I used one of those wiring blocks that you can get from Halfords (they look like lego bricks )

what did you do about connecting the tweeters to the speaker?

yeah just need to bend it in a bit, not far, but it takes a fair whack to move it.

hey...

I've got some alpine 1757 6.5" components and I went to fit them today thinking it would be fairly quick and painless ... how wrong was I :o

hopefully some people can help answer my questions?!

1. the tweeters have a built in crossover and the wires are long enough to be fed through the internals of the door to the speaker. the speaker has 4 terminals on it. but after you have attached the positive and negative for the speakers the two remaining terminals are both large, whereas the tweeter needs to be attached to a large and a small terminal?!?! ... would it be best just to cut the wire after the crossover and solder to the original vauxhall tweeter wires?

2. although I have used the autoleads adapter it still feels like the magnet is hitting something in the door. the extra flat rings that you get with the autoleads kit seem not to fit or serve any purpose?! this means that if you tighten the speakers into the adapter then the speakers keep cutting out till you release some pressure?!?! ... no idea about this one ... I was thinking maybe make an extra spacer from mdf to use with the adapter

any help would be great

thanks
Tim
