snapped belt = valves staying open and the piston twatting them and breaking stuff ie fucked!

the situation is iv bought dbilas inlet today and i need bolt ends and rollers but need new cam belt do i need cam belt tensioner? the cam belt last 40k miles and if it brakes then it brakes the valves yea i,e engines nakered!

get a goodyear kit... comes with a 2 year warrenty.. so if ur belt fails they fix ur engine..

Do it yourself its cheaper. I paid £10 or £12 for my cambelt an ddid the fitting with my dad.

Its a cam belt, transfers the drive from the crank shaft to the cam shaft. Only performace gain would be getting a reliable one for a tuned or hard used engine.

QH are fine for standard ish engines. Personally id go for a dayco XS belt just for that extra peace of mind
