just got me (new) corsa. its a 96 sport with central locking

slight problem: the door lock will only lock to 'deadlock', and it has a slight 'bounce' up in the mechanism once it is locked. it doesnt go to the first lock that it normally would. has any1 else had this problem and can give a rough guess as to what the actual problem might be without me stripping the whole door?!

any help and advice would be much appreciated
