I'd suggest uprating the brakes too to 1.6 spec at least! Not unless u want 1.6 speed and 1.0 brakes... wouldnt suggest it lol. I changed the brakes on my 1.2 8v to GSI ones and they're much better, never hurts to have good brakes anyway

spot on,
besides the loom shud the transplant be relatively straight forward?obviously new suspension, brakes, drive shafts gear box and so on will be required

so if i want to put the 1.6 in then what is the sore wth the loom?
Is it a case of getting a new one?

wiring loom is the same as the 1.2 16v which i had originally, it still wire for wire colour wise, but i just made the connections on the outside before it went into the car, which is a bit of a bodge, but its either that or take the dash out i think

disclaimer: this may not be correct for vauxhall ecu's as my engine was run using MBE engine management and i therefore used 3 wires out of the vauxhall loom

i am thinking of getting an engine direct off vauxhall a re con possibly. i no the only majour pain in the bum will be the wiring loom as the 1.0 has a different loom to other corsas

it cost me the engine price, plus £35 for an engine mount.
but i did it myself
