ECU light on?

Do a search for fault codes and flash them out.

I'd say the crank sensor is quite likely.

i had similar problems to this and i was told it could be my idle air control valve, But i had my ecu plugged into a diagnostic machine and it turned out that the ecu had screwed up it was putting too much fuel in at the wrong temperature and it was idle at 800rpm but kept juddering an cutting out. The guy who sorted it for me explained that the ecu can alter these setting itself he did explain in detail what he said did make sense

sounds like it could be a prob with the fuel or maybe the idle control valve.

Could be a number of small things..

I have w reg 1400 sport. With pipercross and back box.

Just come off motorway and engine cut out.

On dash the battery light, engine management light and oil light came on.

Car wouldn't re start for about 2 minutes.

Finally got it re started but it cuts out and same lights come on if drop below 3k rpm.

Very "spluttery" when running, I am gonna leave it over night and check the oil and try again.

Please give advice, have heard about paperclip test - could you explain this to me (I am not good with engines)
