no big 3 is the problem, i changed my wire from 4 to 0 gauge and it has made the dimming worse. Get the big 3 sorted.

:! really!

er not too sure what size cable i have running to my amp... could that be a problem then if its too thin?

think i might try changing that before the big 3?

i got a wiring kit from halfrauds when i had my first install, think im gonna look to upgrade that...

and u reckon to ditch the power cap?

im going to be fitting 0 gauge for the big 3 (only cause i have a load left) hoping that the alternator etc.. will allow for cable that large!

3. change the wire that runs from the alternator to the battery?

Correct. Upgrade using some 2 gauge wire, phone a local welding shop and get some 35mm squared copper welding cable, shouldn't be any more than £3 p/m. You will also need 6 ring connectors. What size of cable have you got going to your amps.

so basically change the wiring?

1. change the wire that runs from the battery -ve to the chassis?

2. change the wire that runs from the engine to the chassis?

3. change the wire that runs from the alternator to the battery?

As for the lights dimming take your capacitor out. It adds more strain to the electrical system, First upgrade the Big 3, this is the battery (-) to chassis. Engine to chassis and Alternator + to Battery +. Use 2 gauge cable, i would recommend welding cable at around £3 p/m. And if the dimming still exists get the biggest battery you can afford and will fit. The capacity off the boxes should be around 1 cubic feet for the alpines iirc. Look on the net and it will tell you.

i have 2 alpine type r 10" subs with a 3000w legacy amp and a 1.5farad power cap, but when i turn my system up my lights dim alot, what can i do to stop this? also some times my headunit just cuts out when the volume is up?

also

what capacity should the boxes holding these subs be?

thanks
