There is a way to do it where ya got no EGR or ECU problems, maybe ya could change over to AFM C16XE loom and lower inlet that would do it lol

what about the wiring plug to the secondary air pump?? would this not show in the ECU with it being disconnected??

i might disconnect it on the way home & see if it does...

Im not 100% on the process as i had a C16XE, BUT, from what i have picked up over time you will need to chuck the lot in the bin, plug the hole in the manifold, make up 2 metal plates same shape as the EGR gasket, one is a blank plate the other has the profile of the gasket, this allows the EGR to still work but not actually do anything and the ECU dosnt know any better cos athough its working the gasses aint gettin plumbed back into inlet???
The above might be bollox, lol, ask Broster he had all his removed and i dont think they even kept the EGR valve?????

Yes sounds right to me, the EGR valve lets exhaust gasses back into the inlet system to be burnt again, this gives a cleaner exhaust from the car, its an eco friendly kinda thing, it basically a valve that opens and closes, they cost a bomb yes, and are fiddly to fit, there is a way to dump ya secondary air pump and egr all together, this will gain ya 1-2bhp and stop ya having to worry about the valve playing up as they break allot

please tell me how to do this as I am wanting to get shut of it to get better access to the engine...

You can just block the EGR valve off.
