random tip from doing my conversion.

similar situation, could get all gears though, and 2nd and 4th was slipping out. would go in, but after few seconds would pop out.

to solve, there is a rubber grommit/gaiter on the gearlinkage shaft to the gearknob that goes into the car, ie bottom of bulkhead. once removed it solved the popping out of gear porblem. meant i could find all gears a lot easier as if the old engine was still in place.

oh, and alsowhere the top connecting bar attaches onto the ball end, flatted that part out. hard to explain actually and i dont have pics to show what i mean. basically, as it is bent back towards the bulkhead, it fouls on the steering rack. straightening it out with lump hammer on bit of wood stops this from happening.

the above was done on my own conversion without using the rear gearbox spacer and using the original corsa linkage, no lenghtening of nothing to be done. hope some of that helps

shove it in reverse on the box and in the car and then tighten .

i'm not sure as i'm not that good at the tecnical side. i know at first i could get 2nd and 4th but you had to hold it in place otherwise it would slip out of gear.

Sounds like it just needs pushing further on.

are you sure it needs replacing?

have you tried re-setting it? its fairly easy to do

So have you extended your existing linkage? If so, why bother if you've already got the MTech linkage?

HI IVE ONLY GOT REVERSE, 1ST,3RD AND 5TH. I HAD 2ND AND 4TH AT FIRST BUT YOU HAD TO HOLD IT IN GEAR AS IT WOULD EVENTUALLY SLIP OUT. ANYBODY KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS?
ALSO I HAVE THE 2.0 MTECH SHORT SHIFT GEAR LINKAGE TO PUT ON, WILL THIS HELP?
