6 bhp difference from the factory on 20XEs and C20XEs. I think

Ive had my Valver de-catted as its a 1991 engine and does not req a cat by law and it rasps like mad, im considering re-catting it to reduce the noise. What gains can be expected from a de-cat on a XE - 1-2 BHP at a guess?

i found it pulled a little smoother, but seemed to run richer and smell of petrol, i also found the noise a bit stupid, people would hear u coming, then a hour later u've gone past em and they can hear u struggling off into distance for another couple of days :lol:

is there any real point in getting my exhaust decatted then? cos i guess the increases are not even noticeable

not too hard, althought i had mine put back on for MOT and a year later its still on, sounds nicer with a cat, was too noisy and little boyish for me

What do you do when your mot comes round? reading the haynes corsa book it says to fit a de cat the cat is CUT out.......so is it easy to put back on for the mot?
