It's the balck sticky outty bit if you need to muck about with it. blanking it off won't help, if it's throwing up codes it will put the car in to limp home mode. you need to get the valve replaced or mantzel or someone does a EGR mimic that you plug in so ecu doesn't get upset.

I can sell the blanking plates £10 inc P+P

But i would change a few of the sensors first

I have just fitted a 1600 16v GSi engine into my corsa and I have some faults on the ecu, one of which is something to do with the EGR valve. Could this problem be causing the engine to run slightly rich or not. I dont really know much about how these EGR things work so dont know what they can effect! its just i have some black smoke coming out the exhaust thats all.
