did this but the car just kept stalling, do i need to dissconect the batt for a bit to clear the ecu? | |

just wind it back as far as possible. the engine will rev high when u first start it up but it wil automaticly set to the right place. | |

right, drove my car last night and it was pretty smoth, but the revs are not backing off as they should, revs stay high when i change gear. | |

My GSI done it on the first touch of the brakes, it normal, but if it does it all the time its not so normal, As 3CM says its all about the vaccum | |

yeah, a tiny leak/hole/crack will usually close up as the engine warms up and expands | |

make sure when u put the ICV back on to set the lenght - it ahs to be correctly set - dimensions are in the haynes manual | |

Sounds like a vacum leak in the vacume system, as you brake your using vacum from the vacum system and if its leaking the revs drop | |

my cars idling fine @1000rpm, but when im pulling up at junctions ect, the revs drop really low like its gonna stall! |
