i just been trying to clean mah car, then it started feckin hailing! but I noticed that my passengerside brake light was out! sureley that would have made mah car fail its MOT yesterday! also since theyve done it when I go into 5th sometimes the engine starts screeming, not sure if I should take it back in, I've fixed the bulb now newaze but now and again when I go into 5th the car kinda jults really hard and the engine starts screemins, no idea why!

If you had duck taped over it, it woulda passed anyway, cause if its not visable they cant fail you for it! Thats how it works, silly i know....

Been to halfords, got the tape to fix it with, cost me almost £5 :O but mah car passed its MOT so i guess it works out alright in the end.

brilliant! think I'll be popping into halfords before i take it in tomorow then, I found some black gaffa tape which I've used to 'repair' it for the time being, went to loads of salvage yards looking for one and theyve only got the lights off a 3 door! why can't they all be the same?! :'( then went into vauxhall as a last resort and they said I'd have to wait up to 14 days for it to come in! :O

fpmsl, i did exactly the same thing. reversed into a concrete bollard in the 205, mashed up the rear lights, and just my luck, police pulled me over 20 mins later :(

it was painted white about a foot or 2 away from a wall i was reversing around and wasn't very tall! checked over my shoulder before reversing but it was on the left hand side and was in my blind spot, had no way of seing it unless i got out and walked round the car to check exactly what was about.

Don't worry abotu putting tape on it, you cna't fail for a cracked lense, unless it's got a hole in it. My passat has passed the last 3 MOt's witha cracked fron headlamp, long as it functions correctly it's ok.

I got some red, green & yellow, blue and some white insulation tape! lol I'll have a look for some black duc tape if I can't get a new light., you sure it'll pass with black tape stuck over that one side of it?

also gotta get my bumpers all painted up again now mee thinks... should I paint 'em white? or just tidy 'em up in black?

put a bit of tape over the crack, black if possible, or if you are feeling creative, red, clear and orange. should pass the mot as it will still be showing the correct colour of light.

its not too bad

it will fail if the light in question emits white light from anything other than reversing lights and numberplate lights

think it will fail the MOT

just go down the scrappy & hunt one down!

but how bad was it smashed? if you did it good & proper, you might of bent in the metal surround slightly so be worth checking & just hammer it back out if you have, nae a big job tbh!

erlier today I accidentally reversed into a bollard! I didn't see it at all, twas so short i couldn't see it in my mirrors and it wasn't painted brightly or have any yellow and black tape or what evv on it! newaze, I accidentally hit it and have broken my rear pasenger side lamp,, I haven't been out to go and find a new one yet as I was on my way to work when it happend and as I have a 5 door I may not be able to find a repleacement in time for friday.

Just wanted to know if when you having your MOT they check about broken lenses on ya lights, I've made sure all the bulbs in it still work and they do! and if you can get like a cheap repair kit or something along those lines to fix it untill I can find a new one and if i use the repair kit (if such thing exists) it will go through the MOT with it.
