The blanking plug is there because it is what the LETS use for the oil feed. You could probably even buy the pipework to route it to the turbo.

The sandwich plate wont work as the oil return cant be pressurised.

i know theres one there but id rather leave that as a blanking cap and not mess around with the sump mate the sandwich plate just seams like the easer option all round

I believe there is a place for the oil take off in the back of the oil pump that currently has a blanking plug in it. The LETs then have the oil return in the block just above the sump, you could put it into the top of the sump though as an easier option.

Loom and ECU £250
Inlet manifold £100
Used turbo £150
XE £200

Might be able to get those bits cheaper.

The other bits will cost you whether your rebuilding a XE to LET or a LET anyway.

just the out lay prices are mad 1500 for engine box loom or c20xe 400, plus pistons, head gasget and turbo manifolds and loom

why not just get a let tho mate? would be easier in the long run? even if you are rebuilding it

id get a new or recon turbo if i was to get a let and replace the pistons so i know when the engines in ill know the compression and turbo are ok as-well as the head gasget, the only reason i thought was to run it thew a sandwich plate from the oil filter because its an easy way to get a good return and feed to the turbo

Yes.

Your oil plans are slightly off but thats the jist of it.

Sourcing a LET inlet manifold, turbo, loom, pistons, ecu and doing the work will no doubt cost more than a let though. Thinking about it maybe not if you can get the bits alright.

is it possible to get a c20xe the change the inlet manifold anthe exhaust manifold with the correct turbo and change the headgasget and pistons and put a sandwich plate for the oil feed and return for the turbo on the oil filter housing get a c20let loom and ecu and now you have a let????
